FAN FACTS:

*This was the third Dick Sargent episode filmed as Darrin. "Samantha's Better Halves" was the first but William Asher thought his performance too stiff to serve as a proper introduction and shelved that episode until halfway through the season.

*First episode with Dick Sargent as Darrin.

*First episode where Tabitha is spelled with an i.

Summary: Tabitha hears her parents discussing names for the new baby, and thinks they like boys better than girls. She brings the story of 'JACK AND THE BEANSTALK' to life and changes places with Jack. Darrin panics as his mother questions the strange boy and Endora won't help. Tabitha puts a guard to sleep and meets the giant. Climbing the beanstalk after her, Samantha is caught and locked in a dungeon. The giant's wife frees her, because she can't wait to get rid of Tabitha, who has been up to all kinds of mischief.

Having modernized the harp, and the goose, Tabitha brings the giant down to toy size, so she can play with him. When the giant starts to cry, Samantha orders Tabitha to reverse the spell. The giant shoots back to his normal size, the harp plays Chopin and the goose again lays golden eggs. Then Samantha pops back with Tabitha, Jack pops out and Darrin's mother thinks she's lost her mind. Surrounded by witches, Darrin declares he loves all of them, except his mother-in-law.
